GIVE TO THE CONGREGATIONAL LIBRARY
Support our work to preserve and share Congregational history.
A gift to the Congregational Library & Archives supports the ongoing interpretation and preservation of the Congregational story. With over 400 years of history to curate, your gift allows the library to
build on the strengths of our collection by acquiring new items;
present in-person, hybrid, and virtual programs to several thousand viewers annually on topics ranging from church archive stewardship to the Salem witch trials;
preserve our landmark location and magnificent historic reading room; and,
welcome scholars and researchers to explore our collection and add to our understanding of the Congregational story.

Planned Giving and Bequests
The Tappan Society was established in memory of two great financial benefactors with a passion for social justice. In the 1840s and 1850s, merchants Arthur and Lewis Tappan represented the best of the Congregational tradition, funding the work of abolitionists and personally sponsoring the 1841 rescue of Amistad captives in 1841.
Members of the Tappan Society who have identified gifts or bequests to the library in their estate planning are recognized in the Annual Report and invited to occasional special events. For bequest language or to inform the library of your planned gift, please contact Heather Kurtz, Director of Development, at hkurtz@14beacon.org or at 617-523-0470 ext. 230.
